My life has been about the pursuit of my passion.  Surfing waters around the world has given me the opportunity to experience cultures, people, and experiences that I will never forget.  My most cherished moments and closest friends were made, not in the water, but over a great meal.

Along the way, I fell in love with wine.  Wine is about passion for life.  A great bottle reflects the uniqueness of a place because the sun, wind, soil, and people of a region is captured in that grape.  Just like waves are affected by nature, wine is a mirror of where it was grown.  And just like every surfer has his or her own style, wine reflects the style of it's winemaker. 

So Robert August Winery is a refection of my home in California.  I partnered with winemaking legend Dennis Hill to craft these wines in a style that reflects that special place that I grew up and still live.  My wines are laid back, easy to enjoy, and not a so expensive that you have to save it for a special occasion.  I try to live life to it's fullest every day, and these wines are meant to celebrate that spirit.
